The following towns are our personal favourites which can be easily reached by public transport from Lisbon. For each of the towns there is an information guide and an image tour.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, with three distinct castles, enjoyable hilly walks and bags of quaint charm. A great location for a day trip from central Lisbon.

The pretty capital of the Alentejo region, second only to Lisbon for the number of public monuments ranging from Roman temple to chapel constructed from bones. Evora's pace of life is relaxed and where old men sit all day on the benches watching the day slowly pass. This gem of Portugal is only 1.5 hours east from the capital Lisbon.

A pretty fishing town 3 hours south of Lisbon with beautiful beaches and a very laid back atmosphere. Villa Nova de Milfontes has some of the best beaches in Portugal and is totally undiscovered by the tourist trade.
